Persian food date ideas
Food is the most reliable way to start a conversation between two Iranians. Here is a date for every stage.
First date
- Faloodeh or bastani: rosewater noodles or saffron ice cream, ten minutes, no commitment.
- A Persian bakery: chai and pastries, a natural end point.
Second or third
- A kabab house: koobideh, barg, and fresh sangak bread.
- Ash reshteh on a cold day.
- A Persian grocer: shop for a meal you will cook another time.
Later
- Cook together: tahdig, kuku sabzi or fesenjan. Whoever gets the tahdig out whole wins.
- A picnic in the Iranian style: a rug, a samovar or flask, fruit, nuts and a backgammon board.
