Dor Dor, often typed DorDor or dordor, is a dating app built for Iranians and Persians living outside Iran. It is in Persian and English, it is open everywhere outside Iran, and every photo is checked by a person.
One name, three spellings
People search for us as Dor Dor, DorDor, dordor and dor dor app. They are all the same app, made by Dor Dor Ltd in London. In Persian it is written دور دور. The official website is dordorapp.com, and the app is published under the name Dor Dor on the App Store and Google Play.
How Dor Dor works
Flash, the way it began
Swipe right to flash your headlights, the old dor dor hello. A double flash puts your card at the top of their street.
Persian first
Every screen in Persian and English, right to left done properly, Vazirmatn type. Switch language any time.
A person checks the photos
Every new photo is screened and then approved by one of us before anyone else sees it. Reports are read by a person.
For the diaspora
Built for Iranians and Persians living outside Iran: London to LA, Toronto to Sydney. City-level location only, never coordinates.
Why it is called Dor Dor
In Iranian cities, dor dor is the evening custom of driving slowly around town with friends, music on, windows down, and catching someone's eye at a red light. Flashing your headlights was how you said hello. The app keeps that language: the deck is your street, liking someone is a flash, and a match is when you both pull over. Who it is for
Dor Dor is for adults, eighteen and over, who are Iranian, Persian, half-Iranian, or simply want to meet someone who shares the culture. It is used in English, in Persian, and in the mix of both that most of the diaspora speaks at home. It is not distributed in Iran and takes no payments from anyone resident there.
What it costs
Dor Dor is free to download and free to use: browse, flash, match and chat without paying. Dor Dor Premium adds things like seeing everyone who flashed you, more double flashes and a monthly Boost. Prices are shown by the App Store or Google Play in your own currency before you buy, and you can cancel in your store account at any time.
