Guide
Write a profile people want to flash
A good profile does two things: shows clearly who you are, and gives someone an easy first line. Here is how on Dor Dor.
Photos
- Lead with a clear, recent photo of your face, alone, in good light.
- Add a full-length photo and one doing something you love.
- No group photos as your first, no sunglasses in every picture, no screenshots or text: a person approves every photo and will reject those.
Bio
Two or three lines are enough. Something specific beats something general: "I make the best tahdig in Hackney and I will prove it" invites a reply; "I love travel and food" does not. Write in Persian, English or Finglish, whichever is you.
Interests and details
Pick a handful of interests, from Googoosh to hiking to backgammon, and add your own if they are missing. Say what you are looking for. Languages, children, religious practice and smoking are optional; adding them saves time for everyone.
Prompts for a first line
- Your favourite Hafez line, or your fal from last Yalda.
- The Persian dish you cannot cook but will order every time.
- The city you grew up in, and the one you live in now.
